In both May and December 2024, Ecstatic Dance Nyack had the honor of hosting DJ Shango, a Philadelphia-based DJ renowned for his unique fusion of indigenous and world sounds with contemporary electronic music. His performances have been pivotal in creating transformative dance experiences that resonate deeply with our community.

#### **About DJ Shango**

DJ Shango is celebrated for his ability to blend traditional indigenous rhythms with modern electronic beats, crafting soundscapes that uplift, enlighten, and open the chakras. His vision comes to life through the dynamic energy he brings to the dance floor, where art and music intersect to facilitate healing and spiritual awakening. By incorporating movement, chanting, mantras, crystal vibrations, live drummers, and tribal body art, Shango creates an immersive experience that encourages participants to release traumas and connect with their inner selves.
